Industry 4.0 concerns the enormous changes, challenges and opportunities presented by digitisation in the manufacturing industry. In this context, the IT branch has long since grown out of the role of mere service provider that contributes to increased efficiency. The networking of machinery, plants and companies as well as new dimensions in creating value from analysing extensive quantities of data enable - and drive - innovative business models.
